Description: The Jealous Wall Belvedere House, Mullingar 1760 Robert had commissioned Richard Castle to design Belvedere House, but the baron soon quarrelled with his brother George, who commissioned Castle to build the larger Rochfort House. Robert retaliated by blocking George’s view with an enormous sham Gothick ruin, which because of Robert’s cruel treatment of his wife, became known as the ‘Jealous Wall’.
